Babywearing Mei-Tai

In celebrating a week of baby carriers, we are discussing the Chimparoo Mei Tai.

Basic Information: The name "mei-tai" refers to a type of Asian-based carrier. Its simplicity is what makes it so popular. The Chimparoo Mei Tai is unique in that it is made of soft woven cotton twill, has seat adjustments to accommodate a baby younger than 2-3 months of age, a sleep hood, and padding in the waist, shoulder straps and under the thighs. All these elements make an ideal carrier for newborns and babies. The carrier is certified for use with a child weighing 7-35 lbs, and can be used for as long as you feel comfortable.

ProsThough there is some element of wrapping, with this Mei Tai you get the cozy closeness of a wrap without ALL the wrapping. The waist strap and panel create the "unpopable" seat. Designed with ergonomics in mind, when worn correctly, the baby and wearer are very comfortable. Buy one here for $122.99!

Cons: This Carrier does involve minimal wrapping so if you are not interested in wrapping at all this may not be the carrier for you. It will support up to 35 lbs so it may not be ideal for larger babies and toddlers.
