How does Bay & Bee work?

We are a membership-based community. You can sign up in person or online, choose from 3 tiers of monthly subscriptions based on your availability. Come play whenever your schedule allows!

Why do you need a membership for the play space?

We did a lot of research on pay per play vs membership model and decided to create a community environment that helps parents connect and get to know each other.  We felt that our community would be better served through memberships as this lends itself to access any day of the week at any time while making sure our families stay safe and comfortable, especially during inclement weather. It also ensures that our doors are able to stay open to provide this service.

The membership also helps us schedule additional classes and activities are tailored to our community’s interests.

We do however offer drop in rate classes in the studio space. To see drop in activities, please see our calendar of events. Classes and workshops eligible include baby sign language, mommy & me yoga, nature exploration, babywearing workout,  creative dance, most parenting workshops, events and more!

We also host workshops and play dates open to public: from breast feeding support to cloth diapering and baby wearing.

What does a membership cost?

Why is it called Bay & Bee?

Monica and her husband spent years throwing out names for this idea. Some admittedly greater than others. Monica was very much against anything with the word monkey or playground in it, misspellings with the letter z and things that looked liked typos were also out. Monica, being a former potter,  had a little crush on Etsy, a lot of her favorite craftspersons shops had an ampersand in the titles. We started with putting animals together(Whale & Bear) then objects (Bear & Basket) the ampersand possibilities were hilarious. One brainstorm session we started saying Baby & insert an array of words. Then just deconstructed baby to Bay & Bee.
